Background
Morris Group International - Junior UX Developer
My first role out of grad school was as a Junior UX Developer. My responsibility for this role mainly consisted of collaborating with clients to gather requirements for website designs, create wireframes for the new UI, and coding the website’s frontend.
Overall, Morris Group is the parent company for over 20 manufacturing businesses, and the tech team worked as a sort of in-house design agency doing design and development work for each of those businesses. During my time their, I was responsible for or collaborated on 9 website updates.
When I joined, the team was working on a major overall of the different websites for each of their member businesses. Below are a sampling of the websites I designed and coded.
⚠ The Core Tension
Member websites of Morris Group International had outdated web presences that no longer represented their brands or services leading them being inaccurately represented.
💡 The Opportunity
This created the chance to completely overall the UI of their websites and create a modern image for each of the member businesses.

Updated Designs
Potter Roemer - Fire Safety with Style
Potter Roemer is a division of Morris Group that focused on fire safety and fire extinguisher cabinets. Their products focus on strong functionality and being able to fit in with any interior.
For this website update, I focused on using a firefighting theme to emphasize the functional aspect of the business along with tailoring older assets to show their tailor-made approach.
Before

After

Elmdor - Customizable Fire Access Doors
Elmdor is somewhat similar to Potter Roemer as far as products go with a focus on fire access doors. However, much of their business came from consumer customized products.
For Elmdor’s new site, I approached it with a more artistic theme and aesthetic to draw attention to product customization available with each purchase.
Before

After

Neo-Metro - Luxury with a Touch of Green
Neo-Metro is Morris Group’s luxury brand for commercial sinks. One of their signature products were resin cast sinks that could be colored to customer specification.
For the new site, the client was very intrigued by the aesthetic of biophilic design, so used a lot of green for the redesign along with using images of their products featured with large indoor plants.
